The story of Joshua leading the people of Israel into the Promised Land is full of constant reminders that we can only succeed in following God by trusting totally in God, and that our behaviour must mark us out of people of God. It is full of encouragement, and we’ve taken Joshua 1:9 as our verse of the year.
Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged,
for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.
